Flu shots are now available for our high risk patients and anyone 65+. We’ll begin booking regular flu shots at the end of October.

A vaccine is an inoculation designed to increase immunity against a specific disease. The influenza vaccine is an annual vaccine to protect against the highly variable influenza virus.

In Canada, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization, the group that advises the Public Health Agency of Canada, currently recommends that everyone aged 2 – 64 years be encouraged to receive annual influenza vaccination.

Children between the age of six and 24 months and their household contacts should be considered a high priority for the flu vaccine. All adults over 65 years are strongly recommended to have annual influenza vaccination.
